Knocking a building down is fast. Doing it safely, legally and without leaving a mess is the real job. We demolish houses, barns, garages, outbuildings and commercial buildings, and we leave you a clean, level site.
On a rural property it might be an old barn that is falling in, a drive shed past saving, or a farmhouse being replaced with a new home. In town it is more often a detached garage or a small house on a lot that is being rebuilt. We bring an excavator sized for the building, and we haul the debris away.
In 2026 we took down a fire-damaged self-storage facility in Oakville. It had more than 40 units, and each one belonged to someone. We worked alongside the unit owners and the insurance company. Fire jobs need patience and clear updates, not just a big machine.
The utilities have to cut off hydro, gas, water, and sewer or septic. Buildings from before about 1990 can contain asbestos in siding, flooring, insulation or pipe wrap, so a survey comes first, and a qualified abatement company removes anything it finds. Then the permit is issued and we can start. We help you line up each step so the dates fit together.
We separate metal, clean wood and concrete where we can, because mixed loads cost more at the landfill. Salvage like barn beams or steel siding can be set aside for you. Everything else is loaded and hauled away.
Once the debris is gone, we remove the foundation if that is part of the plan, backfill the hole and rough grade the lot. From there our site grading crew can finish the ground for seed or for your next build.
Most buildings need a demolition permit from the County of Brant or the City of Brantford. Before that, hydro, gas, water and sewer or septic have to be disconnected by the providers. Older buildings usually need a survey for asbestos and other hazardous materials.
If you want it gone. We break out the foundation and floor slab, haul it away and backfill the hole. If you are rebuilding in the same spot, part of the old foundation can sometimes stay, but that is a call for your engineer.
